We are looking for the Best Homemade Apple Pie in Texas again this year.

We will be judging the apple pies on Sunday, May 11th, 2008. Please read the

rules and complete the entry form if you would like to participate. There is a

youth category for ages 16 and under. The first place for youth will be

$50.00, second place $25.00 and third place $10.00. For 17 years and older

(adult category), the first place will be $100.00, the second place $75.00,

and the third place $25.00.

The Rules

1. This competition is open to any person who likes to bake.

2. Only one pie per contestant will be accepted.

3. Return completed application to Bonnie Schoellkopf @ 102-7th Street League City

TX 77573 or Fax 281-554-8739 or e-mail to bonnie@treygroup.com. On or before

May 11th, 2008.

4. The homemade apple pie must be brought to the Information Booth at 1:00pm on

Sunday, May 11th, 2008.

5. Each participant must submit one freshly baked homemade apple pie in an 8-inch

glass NON-RETURNABLE pie pan. The pie becomes the property of the 2008 Lions

Village Fair Apple Pie Contest Committee.

6. Each entry will be recorded and a number will be assigned to the contestant and put

in the correct category. The number will be placed on the bottom of the pan. No

identifying marks may be made on the pie or the pan. Only the Apple pie Committee

will know the identity of the baker.

7. All pies must be made with fresh apples and by the contestant who’s name is on the

Entry Form.

8. The pies will be judged according to 1) appearance 2) taste, and 3) texture.

9. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at 4pm Sunday, May 11th, 2008.
